Dancers stomp through Mohobelo and Litolobonya, two of Lesotho's oldest dances. A lesiba hums behind the drums — a mouth-blown string instrument you won't find anywhere else. The rhythm builds, then slows into something closer to a story.

You don't need to dance to join in. Watching, clapping, and tasting is enough — this is a light, easy day, not a physical one. Try papa or bohobe at a village table, then browse handwoven blankets and beadwork at the craft market. Watch a weaver twist raw straw into a mokorotlo, the tall straw hat worn across the highlands. Once the fire is lit, elders share stories that don't make the guidebooks, while centuries-old bushman paintings rest in the hills just beyond the firelight.
